Joseph Campbell observed that myths serve an important role as a bridge to the unconscious. Although myths are not true in the usual way in which the term is used, they are true in a different way.
Throughout this book I discuss how the publication of Carl Jung’s Red Book and Black Books in recent years can shed a new light on Jung’s theories. I also explore how these new insights may help us deal with some of our current dilemmas, resulting from the fact that our external world continues to develop rapidly, while our internal world is often neglected and left in the dark.
